Learn about the programme

The Mathematics Mastery programme is an investment from both sides and it's important you make the right decision for your school. We encourage you to learn about our approach and discuss with colleagues before you proceed. Below are several options to support your decision making.

Not sure if you are eligible?

The programme is suitable for:

  • Primary and secondary schools in England and Northern Ireland, of varying size, intake or academic performance.
  • Junior schools can join if due consideration is given – please contact us directly to discuss further.
  • All-through schools (two applications are required as the primary and secondary programmes are separate).
  • Independent schools are accepted very occasionally if they can commit to financially supporting another local school.

The programme is unsuitable for:

  • Mixed age classes
  • Middle schools
  • Upper schools
  • Schools with extremely small intakes
  • Schools with high intake of special educational needs
  • Schools in Wales, Scotland and outside the UK (our programme is aligned to the English National Curriculum only).

2.
The online application process

The application process can be completed in two ways:

One step

1) Headteacher completes and submits the entire form

Two step

1) A relevant teacher completes the initial form
2) Headteacher is notified to finalise the submission

3.
Applications are assessed and accepted

Your application is reviewed by our team and we will notify you of your acceptance within four working weeks. We may have follow up questions and occasionally schools are placed on a waiting list if we are oversubscribed. Once accepted, your headteacher is required to confirm the contractual programme agreement.

4.
Induction to the programme

Following your acceptance onto the Mathematics Mastery programme, you will receive details on next steps. This includes:

  • Login details to the Toolkit, our online programme hub
  • Instructions on how to give teachers Toolkit access
  • Dates, locations and details on how to book induction training sessions

Induction training for your team will take place between May – July 2018.

5.
Launch the programme in September

After attending induction training in the Summer Term, the programme is launched in September.
